Modelglass Pty Ltd (ABN 98 699 057 406) ("we", "us") operates modelglass.com.au and the Modelglass API. We're committed to handling your information responsibly under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Information we collect

Account information

Email address and payment details if you sign up for an API key. Payment processing is handled by Stripe — we do not store card numbers.

Usage data

API request logs retained for 90 days for rate limiting and abuse prevention.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people use Modelglass — which pages are visited and how the site performs. GA4 collects anonymised usage data. You can opt out via your browser settings or a GA4 opt-out extension.

What we don't do

We don't sell your data. We don't send marketing emails unless you've asked for them. We don't store anything we don't need.

Modelglass Pro (iOS app)

The following applies in addition to the above if you use the Modelglass Pro iOS app.

The app does not require an account or email address to use. On first launch it silently provisions its own free API key — no key entry, no purchase, no sign-up flow of any kind.

What's stored on your device

API key — the app's own auto-provisioned key, stored in the iOS Keychain (encrypted at rest, device-only). It is never synced to iCloud or transmitted anywhere except as an Authorization: Bearer header to the Modelglass API (modelglass-api.vercel.app) for authentication.
Watchlist and cached pricing/news data — which models you've starred, plus the last-fetched pricing and update data, cached locally so the app works offline and so the home screen widget can read it without making network requests of its own. Never transmitted anywhere beyond the original Modelglass API fetch.

Network requests

The app makes requests to the Modelglass API (modelglass-api.vercel.app) to fetch pricing, model, and update data, and to Firebase/Google's analytics endpoints (see Analytics below). No other network endpoints are contacted.

Analytics

The app uses Firebase Analytics to understand overall usage — which screens are used, and installs and return visits. This is aggregated product-usage data, not linked to your identity. Ad-personalization signals are explicitly disabled, so it is not used for ad personalization and does not track you across other apps or websites.

Device permissions

The app requests notification permission, asked contextually the first time you star a model to watch, so it can alert you to price changes or deprecations for models you're tracking. Declining it doesn't limit anything else in the app. Beyond that, the app does not request access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, or any other device capability.

Data retention

Account data is retained for the life of your account plus 90 days after deletion. API logs are retained for 90 days. Analytics data is retained per Google's standard GA4 retention settings.

Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) you have the right to access, correct, and request deletion of your personal information. Contact us at the address below and we'll respond promptly.
